In 1940 the automotive market was forever changed - with three industry titans (Ford, Bantam, and Willys) joining together to heed a call for 4x4 capability. World War II loomed and there was a desperate need for precise performance on the field. Terrains had to be conquered; missions had to be completed; and no ordinary vehicle would suffice.
From this came what would serve as the prototype for off-road capability in North America - the Jeep.
