For the last decade, Ram Trucks has been manufacturing full-size pickups under their own nameplate. Prior to 2010, these pickups had been part of the Dodge brand. However, due to the incredible success and popularity of models like the 1500 and 3500, a separate entity was formed to focus more on developing vehicles that work hard.
When it comes to power and capability, Ram trucks have proven to be beyond reliable. Whether you want one for work or play, there is something for just about everyone.
With the all-new 2021 lineup of Ram models in Lower Mainland, BC, the sky’s the limit.
One of the best things about Ram trucks is the ability to choose exactly what kind of performance you want. Since 1981, versions of the Ram light-duty truck have evolved into one of the most powerful pickups on the market. If you look under the hood of a new 2021 Ram 1500, you will find one of five different engine options. These include the following:
First is a 3.6L Pentastar V6 paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, the eTorque mild hybrid system, and your choice of RWD or 4WD. Pumping out 305 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque, this motor is standard on the Tradesman and Big Horn trims.
Next is the 5.7L HEMI V8 mated with the same transmission and drivetrain options. Generating 395 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque, you’ll find this powertrain under the hoods of the Sport, Rebel, Limited Longhorn, and Limited trims. Keep in mind that certain models can also be fitted with the eTorque mild hybrid system.
The third option is a 3.0L Ecodiesel V6 that delivers 260 hp and a staggering 480 lb-ft of torque. Equipped with the same transmission and drivetrain, this beast can tow up to 12,560 pounds. However, it is not standard on any trim. You can opt for it on the Rebel, Laramie, Limited Longhorn, and Limited models.
Finally, the 6.2L HEMI V8 is a supercharged Hellcat unit that offers 702 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque to Lower Mainland drivers. Those are best-in-class numbers that you won’t find on any competitor. This particular engine comes on the all-new TRX only.
Aside from the extraordinary engine, the new 2021 Ram 1500 TRX is quite impressive. Pronounce like “T-Rex”, this beast takes capability to a whole new level.
The scooped hood has been restyled to include a dual-path induction system which enables outside contaminants to be filtered out. This gives the TRX the ability to drive through water up to 32-inches in depth. Other off-roading enhancements include:
This model has been modified for off-roading adventures. Even the underbelly components such as the alternator and oil pan have been repositioned to prevent damage to the parts during extreme rock crawling.
If you need something even stronger to get the hard jobs done with no problem, then the new 2021 Ram 3500 is the truck for you. This juggernaut delivers unmatched performance in several areas including towing, payload capacity, and torque. You can find one of three different powertrains equipped on these heavy-duty pickups.
Towing capacities for these various powertrains range from 8,260 kg (18,210 pounds) to 15,921 kg (35,100 pounds). Fifth-wheel/gooseneck hauling has never been easier. Plus, gasoline models can manage a payload of 3,383 kg (7,680 pounds), and the diesel can hold up to 3,134 kg (6,910 pounds).
Another great feature that will make your life a lot easier is the Rambox Cargo Management System. With the ability to be fitted onto any of the Ram trucks, this convenient storage solution includes waterproof compartments that are illuminated. You can stash your gear or tools inside and lock it remotely for safe-keeping.
A 115-volt electrical outlet has been installed to plug-in power accessories, and a bed divider allows for optimized payload organization.
